3M Dynatel products are utility locators, not HDD bore trackers. The 2550 is a pipe and cable locator and the 2573 adds fault locating, with current X-iD versions that also find 3M Electronic Marking System markers; the Dynatel 1420 is a dedicated marker locator for buried EMS markers.
