Volvo Mini Excavator Models

Volvo uses the ECR prefix for its short-swing compact excavators, built for confined spaces, and EC for conventional-tail models such as the EC37. The number roughly tracks weight class — Volvo describes the ECR18E as a 1.8-ton-class machine and the ECR50 as 5-ton — and in North America the ECR35D was replaced in 2024 by the ECR40 and EC37.
