Linemen build and maintain the aerial plant and the utility infrastructure around it, working at height and near energized conductors. The role carries the crew: it is a supervisory seat as much as a technical one, directing groundmen and owning the safety brief. Contractors hire on hours in the bucket, storm and outage-restoration experience, and the ability to run a crew.
